PAST SIMPLE

VS
PAST CONTINOUS

We Use the Simple Past to express an action started and finished at a specific time in the past time.
Sometimes, the speaker may not actually mention the specific time, but they do have one specific time in mind. We express it with: Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative

- I Broke the window with a stone

- I Didnt Break a window with a stone

- Did you Break a window with a stone?

In Past Simple we use 3 particules

Last - I drunk hot chocolate last week

Yesterday -They Cheked the information Yesterday

Ago - I Studied English 4 years ago

Past Continious

We use this verb tense to describe an action that was happening in a concret moment in the past

- I was working yersterday

It also describes an action interrupted by a shorter action

- While Tom was cooking dinner, the phone rang

It describes two actions at same time

- I fell asleep when I was watching TV
